Leather, plastic, cotton thread, fabric, copper, timber

115 x 100 x 20 cm

These sculptural assemblages are made from dismantled leather saddles, combined with materials including plastic, rubber, brass, ceramic, timber, and folded paper. Each component has been taken apart, cleaned, and reassembled with attention to how it was originally made—revealing layers of stitching, padding, reinforcement, and surface wear.

The process is intuitive and hands-on, guided by the shapes, textures, and relationships between materials. Elements are arranged by feel, with no fixed plan, allowing the forms to emerge through trial and adjustment. Though the final works are symmetrical and formally composed, their structure evolved gradually rather than being designed in advance.

The result is a series of unified, contemporary objects where the details of each material—scuffs, seams, curves, patina—are allowed to remain visible. Together, the components form new shapes and connections, while quietly retaining the physical memory of what they once were.
